GES Chief Internal Auditor Grace Asamoah Agyemang Confirmed as Atwima Kwanwoma district Chief Executive With 100% Endorsement
The former chief internal auditor,Atwima Nwabiagya south district of Ghana education service,Madam Grace Asamoah Ama Agyemam has been confirmed as the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Atwima Kwanwoma District Assembly in the Ashanti Region, following a successful vote that saw her secure a commanding *100 percent* of the total valid votes cast.
The confirmation exercise took place under tight security on May 16, 2025, with personnel from the Ghana Police Service,Ghana fire service and the Ghana Immigration Service deployed to the to ensure peaceful event.
The move was seen as a precautionary measure to maintain peace and order, especially following recent internal opposition to Grace Asamoah nomination.
According to www.dailywatchgh.com report,Grace polled 47 ‘Yes’ votes and Non of them voted ‘No’ out of 47 total votes cast by assembly members.
Her confirmation vote surpasses that of her predecessor,Hon Prince Karikari, who secured 48 votes out of 48, when he was confirmed in 2020, the report said.
Despite some resistance from the groups the ruling NDC in the district, who opposed her nomination and protest to express dissatisfaction with Asamoah’s nomination, the confirmation process was conducted without incident.
Security presence remained visible throughout the event to ensure calm, the report added.
In his acceptance speech, Grace Asamoah Agyemang expressed profound gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for nominating her for the role.
She pledged to work diligently to accelerate development and uplift the image of Atwima Kwanwoma district, emphasizing infrastructure, education, and youth empowerment as his top priorities.
She appealed to the Assembly Members,the general public to support her to achieve her goals.She said,one of my major priority is to drive the Atwima Kwanwoma district to a perfect destination.
“I am deeply humbled by the confidence reposed in me, and I assure the good people of Atwima Kwanwoma that I will work tirelessly to bring positive change and development to our communities,” the report said.
The Ashanti regional administrator of the ruling party NDC, Alhaji Obidiaba who was present at the event as the representative of the Ashanti regional minister, congratulated Grace on her confirmation and urged all assembly members to collaborate effectively with the new District Chief Executive.
He emphasize that unity and teamwork were essential for achieving development goals in the district without partisan politics.
In his delivering,Hon. Kofi Amankwa Manu, the MP for Atwima Kwanwoma and former deputy defense minister, called for selfless service and development-focused leadership in the constituency.
Mr Amankwa Manu urged the assembly members to put the interests of Atwima Kwanwoma above personal gain and also serve the people without bias, focusing on unity and progress.
Touching on Collaboration for Progress, As MP, he expresses commitment to working with the District Chief Executive (DCE) to drive development.
He emphasized on the importance of unity and collective effort in shaping the future of Atwima Kwanwoma.
