President Mahama Cautions Traders Against unlawful Cooking:

President John Dramani Mahama visited the scene of a devastating fire in Adum-Kumasi, a central business district in the Ashanti Region. The fire, which occurred on Friday, March 21, destroyed hundreds of shops, leaving traders distraught.

During his visit, Mahama interacted with affected traders, expressing sympathy and pledging support. He emphasized the need for swift action to assist those who lost their livelihoods and called for a thorough investigation into the cause of the fire.

Mahama also cautioned traders against cooking in the market, citing the use of cylinders as a contributing factor to the incident. The fire, which started early Friday morning, spread quickly due to flammable materials stored in the shops. Firefighters faced challenges in containing the blaze due to obstructed access routes and delayed response times.

Traders blamed ongoing power outages for the incident, while others appreciated Mahama’s visit, receiving it with gratitude and cheers.
