Education in the Takorasi Electoral Area has received a major boost as the Assembly Member, Hon. Dominic Bonsu, takes bold steps to blend technology with early childhood learning. In a colourful ceremony, Hon. Bonsu donated five brand-new 32-inch LED Smart TVs to five kindergarten schools, a gesture aimed at reshaping how young learners interact with knowledge.

The donation, valued at several thousands of Ghana cedis, represents more than just gadgets. It is a forward-looking investment in the future of Takorasi’s children. By introducing digital learning tools at the foundational stage, Hon. Bonsu is positioning pupils to compete in today’s tech-driven world.

    The beneficiary schools include:

    1. Takorasi R/C Primary School

    2. Afraso D/A Basic School

    3. Takorasi Adventist Preparatory School

    4. Glory of God International School

    5. Green Leaf Educational Complex

Why Smart TVs Matter for Early Learners

Explaining the motivation behind the initiative, Hon. Bonsu emphasized that Ghana’s new curriculum prioritizes digital resources such as YouTube to simplify complex concepts for children. With the Smart TVs, teachers can access videos, songs, animations, and visual demonstrations to make learning more engaging.

“These Smart TVs will sharpen the children’s skills and make learning faster and fun. Education has changed, and we cannot ignore the digital aspect. This intervention will ensure that Takorasi children are not left behind,” Hon. Bonsu said.

He also urged school authorities to use the devices solely for academic purposes and maintain them carefully to guarantee long-term benefits.

    Schools React with Joy

Headteachers of the beneficiary schools expressed deep appreciation for the donation, describing it as timely and transformative. They pledged to integrate the Smart TVs into daily teaching activities and ensure that pupils get the maximum benefit.

One headteacher noted that the televisions would help teachers move away from purely abstract teaching and bring lessons “to life” for the children.

A Track Record of Educational Interventions

This gesture is not an isolated one. Hon. Dominic Bonsu has consistently rolled out projects to uplift the standard of education in Takorasi, including the provision of learning materials, support for brilliant but needy pupils, and advocacy for improved infrastructure. The Smart TV donation is yet another milestone in his commitment to shaping a stronger educational foundation for the constituency.

    The Bigger Picture

In a world where technology is driving change across every sector, the initiative signals the importance of equipping children with the tools of tomorrow today. For many parents and pupils in Takorasi, this move is more than just about gadgets; it is about hope, empowerment, and a promise that no child will be left behind in the digital age.
