ATTACKS ON JFK UNNECESSARY . RETRACT AND APOLOGIZE ; ASHANTI YOUTH TELLS ANDY OWUSU ( WONTUMI’S AIDE )

The past few weeks, were dominated by allegations and counter allegations involving Chairman Wontumi ( Ashanti Regional Chairman of N.P.P ) in a case where he was reported to have disrespected Manhyia during N.P.P parliamentary vetting.

This issue was followed by a bizarre demonstration organized by some unknown faces in the region to smear the party’s image, reputation and relationship with Manhyia. Most party people in the Ashanti Region were given a rude awakening to the issue as a result of this demonstration.

This was followed by an invitation of Chairman Wontumi by Manhyia to respond to allegations leveled against him. This moment called for leadership and that was what JFK delivered to save the image of the party.

JFK as the General Secretary of the party showed massive solidarity to Chairman Wontumi. His respectful appeal for a rescheduled meeting was upheld by the respected Chiefs. This was done to the admiration of all the chief’s present and party people who followed the case.

It is on this backdrop that we describe as very unnecessary, unwanted, unproductive snd irresponsible the outburst of Andy Owusu ( aide to Wontumi ) during an interview on Kessben Fm making baseless allegations, casting aspersions and insinuations at the General Secretary of the party at a time when the issue has been resolved. We suspect that it is a deliberate attempt to disrupt the General Secretary from the productive assignments of the party.

We however seek to question the locus of even an aide to grant such an interview and question the actions of the General Secretary of the party. Was that instructed by his boss or that was one of his numerous diabolic schemes?

We hereby want to remind everyone that, JFK remains the true friend of the grassroots of the party. Any war on him is a war on the footsoldiers of the party in and beyond Ashanti Region and we shall resist it.

We also wish to serve a notice to anyone who seeks any other agenda apart from supporting the agenda of the General Secretary to see to NPP winning 2024 election to stay back because it’ll not be tolerated.

We call for a retraction of statement and an unqualified apology from Andy. It remains the interest of every party member that unity and party cohesion are achieved as this issue is over and more importantly,as we are closing our ranks after the parliamentary primaries. No form of distraction will be entertained from anyone. We fervently hope that all aspirants will join the 2024 victory train as the party leadership work assiduously to secure victory for DMB We all have a role to play.

Nobody’s interest can be bigger than what we seek in 2024. That is simply winning and making DMB the next President of Ghana. All detractors are hereby warned.
