BAB Commences Phase Two of You start Project:
The second phase of the YouStart project has commenced in full swing at Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality.
In his welcome address, the MCE for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai, Hon Paul Andoh stressed that the participants should consider this golden opportunity as a blessing because a huge number of people applied for the opportunity and a selection process was undertaken to arrive at that figure. He continued that the government has invested heavily in the project so the participants should attach seriousness to the programme. The MCE added that this is not the first time for the project. Others started, persevered, and sailed through successfully. Such individuals have been supported with appreciable capital to commence their businesses.
The MCE gave an assurance that the government is solidly behind them so they should not entertain fears.
Mr. Augustine Ackon, Headmaster of Beposo Senior High School and the Presiding Member of Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipal Assembly remarked that the government intends to support the youth to fish for themselves but not to fish for them always. He recounted stories of coconut sellers, make-ups, and Bakers who were making substantial profits in their businesses. He therefore urged the participants to identify the needs of their communities and work with enthusiasm and strong conviction.
Nana Agyemang Duah Prempeh, Municipal Director for Business Resource Centre, Bibiani explained that the participants are being taken into and they would progress into intermediate and advanced level. This promotion will be made with consideration for attendance, participation, and contributions in class and others.
The facilitator from MGA Consulting Ltd Mr Patrick Shammah Ekuadzi indicated that the 30 participants would be taken through basic training in Entrepreneurship, KAIZAN (Business Management), and Financial Literacy.
Ghana Jobs and Skills Project aims to provide Entrepreneurial and business skills training for Ghanaian youth. Seventy-five youths in Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality were supported in the first phase.
