The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Mponua, Hon. Issahak Ibrahim, has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to promoting and improving education across the district.

He made this assurance during a sod-cutting ceremony to mark the commencement of a GETFund-sponsored girls’ dormitory at Nyinahin Catholic Senior High School, a project aimed at addressing the growing accommodation challenges facing the school.

The new dormitory facility is expected to significantly ease congestion, particularly among female students, as the school continues to experience an increase in enrolment in recent years.

Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Ibrahim emphasized that education remains a top priority for the district assembly, noting that strategic investments in infrastructure and learning resources are critical to enhancing academic performance.

According to him, plans are far advanced to ensure the provision of all necessary educational amenities to support effective teaching and learning across schools in the district. He stressed that the assembly will collaborate with key stakeholders, including the Ghana Education Service and development partners, to deliver quality education for all.

“This project is a clear demonstration of our commitment to creating a conducive learning environment for our students, especially young girls whose education we must protect and promote,” he stated.

He further indicated that the assembly would continue to lobby for additional projects and resources to bridge infrastructure deficits in schools within the district.

Authorities of Nyinahin Catholic Senior High School expressed gratitude to the government and the district assembly for the intervention, describing the project as timely and essential to improving student welfare and academic outcomes.

The sod-cutting ceremony was attended by traditional leaders, education officials, assembly members, and community stakeholders, all of whom welcomed the initiative and pledged their support towards its successful completion.
