“GHANA ON THE BRINK: Farmers Sound Alarm on Electoral Commission’s Neutrality and Security Forces’ Partisan Divide”
“Concerned Farmers Express Distrust in Electoral Commission and Security Services Ahead of December 7 Elections
We, the concerned farmers, warn that the Electoral Commission, Ghana Police Service, Military, and other security agencies have compromised their neutrality and are favoring a particular political party. Instead of protecting our constitutional rights, they are serving the interests of politicians. We urge our fellow farmers to be vigilant and vote against ineffective MPs in our farming constituencies who have failed to deliver benefits to our communities over the past 4-8 years.
The situation is further exacerbated by the alarming division within our security forces. We now have NDC and NPP police and military, which is a sad and worrying state of affairs for a country like Ghana. This partisan polarization undermines the integrity and effectiveness of our security services, putting our democracy at risk.
We demand leaders who understand and address our human suffering. Politicians should not use security services to intimidate us or rig the election. We will not tolerate such undemocratic tactics in Ghana.
Furthermore, we question the judiciary’s credibility, particularly when they fail to recognize birth certificates as a primary form of identification. This raises concerns about their ability to dispense justice fairly.
Let us unite and vote for leaders who genuinely represent our interests and work towards a better Ghana for all.”
