The Lead Examiner of the Perfect Series Basic School Assessment Contest (PSBSAC), Mr. Martin Opoku, has called on the government to lend strong support to academic competitions aimed at grooming the next generation of problem solvers in Ghana.
Speaking on Thursday, March 19, 2026, during the ongoing PSBSAC event held at the Kumasi Anglican Senior High School (KASHS) Assembly Hall in Kumasi, Mr.Opoku emphasized the critical role such initiatives play in identifying and nurturing young talents across the country.
According to him, the primary objective of the contest is to discover brilliant students at the basic school level, sharpen their intellectual abilities, and prepare them to contribute meaningfully to national development in the future.
“Our focus is to identify talents early, groom them, and empower them to become impactful individuals who will solve problems not only for Ghana but for future generations,” he stated.
The contest, organized by Perfect Star Media Production, brought together eight competing schools in a highly competitive semi-final stage, showcasing academic excellence, critical thinking, and teamwork among participants.
At the end of the contest, Reverence Educational Complex emerged as the overall winner of the semi-final stage, outperforming strong contenders to secure a place in the next round. Two schools were, however, eliminated from the competition following the keenly contested rounds.
Some of the participating schools included Unique Educational Complex, Legacy International School, Bosomtwe STEM Academy, and other notable institutions, all demonstrating impressive academic prowess.
The PSBSAC continues to gain recognition as one of the growing academic platforms dedicated to promoting quality education and intellectual development among basic school pupils in Ghana.
Mr.Opoku used the occasion to appeal to stakeholders, particularly the government and private sector, to invest in such initiatives to help sustain and expand their reach across the country.
He stressed that with the right support, the contest could become a national model for talent discovery and academic excellence.
The competition is expected to progress to the next stage in the coming weeks, with heightened anticipation among participating schools and organizers alike.
