Retract ‘Unsavory’ Comments About Ogyeahoho-Nana Ato Ware Warns Truth Faith Church Pastor

Anhwiaso traditional leader condemns TikTok remarks about National House of Chiefs President, demands apology and respect for chieftaincy institution.

A traditional ruler within the Anhwiaso Traditional Council, Nana Kwasi Ato Ware II, has strongly urged a pastor of the Truth Faith Church to retract what he described as distasteful, offensive, and unethical comments made about Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, President of the National House of Chiefs.

The call follows a video circulating widely on social media in which Pastor Koomson, during a TikTok broadcast, allegedly made remarks suggesting that the President of the National House of Chiefs had not initiated any significant development projects since assuming office.

Reacting to the video, Nana Ato Ware emphasised that such comments undermine the dignity and integrity of Ghana’s revered chieftaincy institution.

According to him, chiefs play a crucial role in the country’s traditional governance system, including mediating disputes, promoting development, and preserving Ghana’s rich cultural heritage.

He therefore called on the pastor to retract the statements and publicly apologise to the respected traditional leader.

Nana Ato Ware further lamented that repeated public attacks on chiefs, especially by influential figures such as religious and political leaders-could gradually erode the respect and authority traditionally accorded to the institution of chieftaincy.

“Ghana’s governance system thrives on the cooperation between modern political structures and traditional leadership, and any attempt to undermine that relationship threatens national unity,” he stressed.

Describing the pastor’s remarks as “palpable falsehood and damaging to the reputation of the overlord,” Nana Ato Ware noted that the recent re-election of Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II as President of the National House of Chiefs is clear evidence of his impactful leadership and contributions.

Highlighting some of the achievements of the Paramount Chief of the Anhwiaso Traditional Area, Nana Ato Ware mentioned the establishment of Queens Girls Senior High School, the construction of dormitories and science laboratories for several senior high schools, as well as the provision of sanitary facilities in markets at Bibiani, Agona Nkwanta, and Mankessim through support from the GNPC Foundation.

He added that numerous scholarship schemes for brilliant but needy students, as well as apprenticeship programmes aimed at empowering the youth, are among several initiatives championed by the traditional leader.
“These are just a tip of the iceberg,” Nana Ato Ware stressed.

He further called on the leadership of the Truth Faith Church to take disciplinary action against the pastor, including possible demotion or even excommunication, to serve as a deterrent to others.

Nana Ato Ware concluded by advocating for a cordial and respectful relationship between religious institutions and traditional authorities, reminding the public of the biblical principle:

“Give unto Caesar what belongs to Caesar.”
