The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has called on party members across the country to rekindle the unity, dedication, and patriotic spirit that led the party to victory in the 2000 and 2016 general elections.

According to him, the key ingredients that propelled the NPP to power during those periods were patriotism, commitment, and a strong sense of teamwork, where members worked selflessly for the collective good of the party.

Chairman Wontumi made the call when he met regional and constituency executives in the Northern Region as part of his nationwide tour to seek the mandate of the party to serve as its next National Chairman.

He stressed that if the party is to win the next general election, it must return to the foundational principles that once delivered electoral victory.

“The work we must do to restore the spirit of our party begins now,” he emphasized.

Expressing his determination to lead the party, Chairman Wontumi also acknowledged that mistakes made during the previous NPP administration must not be repeated.

“We must work together to restore the lost glory of our great party,” he stated.

He pledged to lead the charge in repositioning the NPP and making it attractive once again to the Ghanaian electorate.

Chairman Wontumi further expressed appreciation to party members in the region for the warm reception and strong support shown to him and his team, describing it as a clear sign of their confidence in his leadership ambition.

Encouraging party members to remain hopeful and focused, he urged them to reflect on past challenges and work together to rebuild the party.

“Let us keep assuring ourselves that we can do it together. We must stay focused, reflect on our mistakes, and chart a new course for our party,” he said.

He emphasized that every member of the party is important to the rebuilding process, noting that collective effort would be essential for future success.

“Everyone matters in this campaign. We have fallen but we are not out. Let us gather ourselves and get back to work. The task ahead is achievable, and I will lead the charge to secure victory for the NPP in 2028,” he charged.

The meeting with party executives in the Northern Region marks the tenth region visited so far by Chairman Wontumi in his ongoing nationwide tour.

He was accompanied by Lawyer Kwame Adom Appiah, Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NPP; Chairman Justice Appiah, First Vice Chairman of the Ahafo Region; David Boakye, Bono East Regional Secretary; and Hon.Yaw Danso, former District Chief Executive for Bosome Freho.

Also present were Chairman Karikari John, Constituency Chairman for Effiduase Asokore, and several other high-ranking members of the party.
