Fenaso No.3 CHPS Compound Commissioned to Bring Quality Healthcare Closer to Residents
Amansie Central DCE Emmanuel Obeng-Agyemang says facility will strengthen primary healthcare delivery and advance government’s free healthcare agenda

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Amansie Central District,Hon. Emmanuel Obeng-Agyemang, has officially commissioned and handed over the Fenaso No.3 CHPS Compound to the community, describing the facility as a major step towards bringing accessible and quality healthcare closer to residents.
The commissioning and handing-over ceremony was held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, with traditional leaders,the Member of Parliament, Presiding Member, Assembly Members, Assembly staff, health officials, religious leaders,heads of departments, development partners, community members and the media in attendance.
Speaking at the ceremony,Hon. Obeng-Agyemang said the establishment of the CHPS compound reflected the Assembly’s commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of residents by ensuring that essential healthcare services are available within communities.
He said the facility was particularly important to residents of Fenaso No.3 and surrounding communities, who would now have improved access to primary healthcare without having to travel long distances to seek basic medical attention.
“Health is not a privilege, but a right”
The DCE linked the project to the broader national healthcare agenda under President John Dramani Mahama, particularly the government’s Free Primary Health Care Initiative, which seeks to make essential healthcare more accessible to Ghanaians and reduce financial barriers to healthcare delivery.
According to him, the Fenaso No.3 CHPS Compound is a practical demonstration of the national commitment to ensuring that healthcare reaches people at the community level.
“Fenaso No.3 CHPS Compound is a living testimony to this national agenda-bringing healthcare closer to the people and ensuring that health is not a privilege, but a right,” Hon.Obeng-Agyemang stated.
He stressed the importance of creating a healthcare system where Ghanaians, particularly people in rural and underserved communities, can access essential healthcare without being prevented by financial difficulties.
DCE commends stakeholders
Hon. Obeng-Agyemang commended the Ghana Health Service, Amansie Central District Assembly, traditional authorities, community members, development partners and other stakeholders whose contributions made the project possible.
He said the completion of the facility demonstrated what could be achieved when local authorities, communities and development partners worked together towards a common development objective.
“Your dedication and collaboration have brought us to this day,” he told stakeholders.
Calls for community ownership
The DCE urged residents of Fenaso No. 3 to take ownership of the facility and protect it against vandalism, misuse and other activities that could undermine its sustainability.
He encouraged residents to make good use of the services provided and cooperate with health personnel to ensure that the facility delivers the intended benefits.
He also charged health workers posted to the facility to discharge their duties with professionalism, compassion and dedication.
“I also urge the health personnel who will work here to serve with professionalism, compassion, and dedication,” he said.
Hon.Obeng-Agyemang assured residents that the District Assembly would continue to support initiatives aimed at improving healthcare and promoting the overall development and wellbeing of communities across the district.
Expected development impact
The Fenaso No. 3 CHPS Compound is expected to strengthen community-level primary healthcare delivery, improve early access to medical services and reduce the burden on residents who previously had to travel farther for basic healthcare.
The facility is also expected to support preventive healthcare, maternal and child health services,health education and early detection and management of common illnesses.
Beyond healthcare delivery, the project is expected to contribute to improved productivity and the general quality of life of residents by reducing the time and cost associated with seeking essential medical attention.
The DCE expressed confidence that the facility would become a lasting investment in the community and benefit generations to come.
“It is my hope that this CHPS Compound will significantly improve healthcare delivery in the area and become a lasting benefit to present and future generations,” he said.
Facility officially handed over for public use
Concluding his address,Hon. Emmanuel Obeng-Agyemang officially commissioned and handed over the Fenaso No.3 CHPS Compound for public use, expressing hope that the facility would fulfil its purpose of providing accessible and quality healthcare to the people.
“It is therefore my pleasure to officially commission and hand-over the Fenaso No. 3 CHPS Compound for public use. May God bless this facility, its workers, and the people it will serve,” he declared.
The commissioning marks another significant addition to healthcare infrastructure in the Amansie Central District, with the facility expected to serve as an important frontline health centre for Fenaso No.3 and its surrounding communities.
On his part,the Amansie Central District Health Director,Dr. Ahmed Oppong Ampratwum, assured residents of Fenaso No. 3 and surrounding communities of quality,professional and dedicated healthcare services at the newly commissioned facility.
He pledged that the Ghana Health Service would ensure that the facility is properly maintained and put to good use to serve its intended purpose.
Dr. Oppong Ampratwum further assured the community that health personnel posted to the facility would work with commitment and professionalism to provide quality healthcare to residents and contribute to improving health outcomes in the area.
