MTN Ghana Opens Doors to Future Tech Leaders as Over 200 Students Gain Real-World Digital Experience
More than 200 students from selected educational institutions across Accra have benefited from an immersive technology and innovation experience hosted by MTN Ghana as part of efforts to inspire the next generation of digital and STEM professionals.
The students, drawn from institutions including Ashesi University, Ghana International School, Cradle Star Academy, and Kinderland School, visited MTN House where they were introduced to the company’s operations, innovation-driven culture, and digital transformation agenda.
The educational tour formed part of MTN Ghana’s broader commitment to bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world industry experience under its Ambition 2030 strategy.
During the visit, students were taken through the history of MTN Ghana, its core values, customer-focused innovations, and sustainability initiatives targeted at education, youth empowerment, and community development.

A major highlight of the programme was a guided tour of the company’s highly secured Network Operations Centre (NOC) and data centres, where students had the opportunity to witness firsthand the advanced systems that power network connectivity, cybersecurity, and service reliability for millions of subscribers across the country.
Speaking on the initiative, MTN Ghana’s Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer, Adwoa Wiafe, stated that the engagement reflects the company’s commitment to preparing young people for opportunities within the future digital economy.
She noted that MTN continues to invest heavily in youth development through initiatives such as the Bright Scholarship Programme, MTN Digital Skills Academy, the One Million Coders initiative, and the Girls in ICT programme.
According to the company, the programme is designed to deepen students’ interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) careers by exposing them to practical industry operations and emerging technologies.
IT Projects Implementation Manager, Paschal Paaga, emphasized that experiential learning opportunities such as these help students connect academic theories with practical applications in the technology industry.
One of the participants, Maame Sapomaa, a Level 300 Information Systems student at Ashesi University, described the experience as inspiring and insightful, saying the visit brought classroom concepts to life while exposing her to new technological ideas and innovations.
MTN Ghana says it remains committed to promoting digital inclusion, innovation, and strategic partnerships that contribute to sustainable socio-economic development in line with its Ambition 2030 vision.
