A/R; Appeal court of Kumasi granted Bosome freho constituency NPP Parliamentary Primaries disputes out of court settlement
The Bosome Freho constituency in the Ashanti Region has been embroiled in disputes related to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Primaries. Disagreements and legal challenges arose during the primaries against the NPP parliamentary candidate-elect for the Bosome Freho constituency. The case, involving Mr. Yaw Amoah Gyamih, the founder of the party in Bosome Freho, and Asafo Agyei Ayeh, was brought before the Court of Appeal.
Today, the Appeal Court 7 in Kumasi, presided over by His Lordship Justice Fredrick Tetteh, granted the parties involved the opportunity to pursue an out-of-court settlement. This means that the party now has the option to resolve their differences amicably without further court intervention, potentially leading to a resolution that could avoid prolonged litigation and internal party conflict.
Speaking to the media after the ruling, Mr. Victor Owusu, the Ashanti Regional Secretary of the Council of Elders, expressed satisfaction with the court’s decision to grant permission for an out-of-court settlement. He called for peace to prevail in the constituency to help the party “break the 8.”
On his part, Mr. Yaw Amoah Gyamih, the founder of the party in Bosome Freho who brought the case to court, said that he sought fairness and the truth. He welcomed the news, emphasizing that winning the 2024 general elections is the ultimate goal for the NPP.
Finally, counsel for the Parliamentary candidate for Bosome Freho constituency, Lawyer Clement Opoku Gyamfi, added that this is a family issue and that it’s a victory for both the constituency and the NPP as a whole.
